Fix the site you have before you replace it.

Not every site needs rebuilding. Plenty of them are three fixable problems away from performing — slow pages, search foundations nobody laid, and a path to enquiry with a hole in it.

What website optimization services cover

Website optimization is the work of making an existing site perform better without rebuilding it: improving load speed, fixing the technical foundations search engines read, and removing the friction between a visitor arriving and taking action. It's measured work — you get before and after numbers, not opinions.

When to hire one
The site looks fine but the enquiries don't match the traffic
PageSpeed or Core Web Vitals are failing and nobody knows why
You rank for your own name and almost nothing else
A rebuild isn't in this year's budget but the site still has to improve
What you get

Measured, fixed, handed back.

Diagnosis before work

We measure what's actually slow, unfindable or leaking — then tell you which fixes are worth doing and which aren't. Sometimes the honest answer is that a rebuild is cheaper.

Fixes, not recommendations

Most audits end in a PDF of things for someone else to do. We do the work: the code changes, the schema, the redirects, the page weight.

Numbers either side

Speed, Core Web Vitals, index coverage and conversion measured before and after, so the value of the engagement isn't a matter of opinion.

What this covers

Tell us what the site has to do.

Two minutes to sketch the brief. An honest scope, a timeline and a number come back — no discovery call required first.

Website optimization — FAQ
Is this a monthly retainer?

No. These are fixed-scope engagements: we diagnose, agree the work, do it and hand it back. If you want somebody permanently on the payroll for this, hire them — you shouldn't be renting it forever.

Do you optimize sites you didn't build?

That's most of this work. WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, Squarespace, custom builds someone else left behind — we'll tell you honestly what can be fixed in place and what can't.

How do I know if my site needs optimizing or rebuilding?

If the structure and content are sound and the problems are technical, optimize. If the site doesn't describe what you sell, or every change costs money, rebuild. The diagnosis is the first thing we do, and we'll say which one you're in.

How long does it take?

Typically two to four weeks from diagnosis to handover, depending on the platform and how much of the work has to be done carefully around live traffic.
